I Hope That N***** Obama Gets Assassinated, But I'm Not a Racist Bigot or Crazy... Honest!!!

Well, that's basically what Denise Helms, a 22-year-old from Turlock, is telling us after her clearly racist and crazy Facebook post received a little more attention that she had originally hoped.

What I find more crazy than her comments is the denial, something that appears to be common among racists. Similar to Whoopi Goldberg with her obscene "rape-rape" comment, they don't seem to understand that you do not have to physically lynch someone before being a "real" racist. No, calling someone a n****** and hoping they're murdered is enough. And to top it all off, some people, including Helms herself, are trying to make this into a free speech issue.

From the Associated Press:

"TURLOCK -- A Turlock woman who posted inflammatory comments on Facebook about President Barack Obama has been fired from her job and reported to the U.S. Secret Service.
Turlock resident Denise Helms, 22, posted shortly after the president's re-election Tuesday on her Facebook page, "And another 4 years of the (n-----). Maybe he will get assassinated this term..!!"
The post quickly made the rounds on social media, prompting Sacramento TV station Fox 40 to interview her about her comments Wednesday night. She told the Fox 40 reporter: "I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. The assassination part is kind of harsh. I'm not saying like I would go do that or anything like that, by any means, but if it was to happen, I don't think I'd care one bit."
Helms has since deleted the post and posted again about the incident. It reads: "So apparently my post last night about Obama got onto Twitter and Fox 40 came and interviewed me cause apparently a lot of people in Sacramento think I'm crazy and racist. WOW is all I got to say!! I'm not racist and I'm not crazy. just simply stating my opinion.!!!"
But the incident and surrounding outrage caused her to lose her job at Cold Stone Creamery, where she had worked for less than a year. Store director Chris Kegle said he was shocked to read her racist slur and see her accompanying interview.
"We found her comments to be very disgusting, and they do not reflect our opinions here,"Kegle said.
When he arrived Thursday at the store, he said, there were more than 20 angry voicemails about Helms.
"We made the decision because of her comments, but also the community feedback," he said.
Helms also caught the attention of the Secret Service. Agent Scott Gillingham from the Sacramento office said he was not familiar with Helms' case specifically, but he would check out her posting and the Fox 40 report. He said threats against the president are a felony under U.S. Code Section 871.
It reads: "Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits for conveyance in the mail or for a delivery from any post office or by any letter carrier any letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both."
Gillingham said his office would be assigned to review any report from Turlock, but he would not comment further on any possible investigation into her posting.
"We get a lot of these kinds of referrals, especially off of the Internet," he said.
Helms graduated from Placer High School in 2008, according to her Facebook page, and has the Romney/Ryan 2012 page among her "likes." She is not listed as a registered voter in the state registry database.
Helms could not be reached for comment by The Bee. She told Fox 40 she wasn't aware she could be investigated by the Secret Service for her post.
"OK, but what did I do wrong? That's fine if they want to," she told the reporter. "But I don't understand what I did wrong.""

France: Muslim Mob Rule, Police Attacked Doing Burka Check, Attackers Released Without Charge

From Islam versus Europe:

There have been a few attacks on police in France and Belgium while they were conducting burka checks. But this is the first time the state has taken the side of the attackers. With a 40% Muslim demographic in Marseilles and 93% of Muslims voting Socialist, the police can expect a lot more betrayal from Socialist politicians, including the new Hollande government.
In the restive port city of Marseille, police fear that the release of four people arrested for allegedly attacking officers during an ID check on a woman wearing an Islamic veil will undermine their fight against violent crime in the city.
By FRANCE 24 (text)
Marseille police say three of its officers were injured in the early hours of July 25 when a mob of some 50 people tried to prevent them from checking the identity of a woman who was wearing a full Islamic veil.
Under a controversial law passed in 2010, wearing a full veil or covering one’s face in a public place is illegal in France and offenders must submit to ID checks.
According to the police, the woman was stopped just after midnight near a city mosque and refused to cooperate with the officers.
A man accompanying her as well as a large group of bystanders came to her aid and three officers were “lightly injured” in a scuffle.
After police reinforcements arrived, four people, including the 18-year-old woman named only as “Louise-Marie”, were arrested for allegedly assaulting the officers – but were promptly released with a warning on the orders of the city prosecutor.
According to an AFP source, the decision was “a gesture of appeasement during the holy [Islamic] month of Ramadan.”
‘Astonished’
“What kind of message does this send out?” asked David-Olivier Reverdy, head of the Alliance police union. “We are absolutely astonished.”
He told FRANCE 24 the prosecutor’s decision would have “heavy consequences” in a city where “gun crime and ultra-violence is common” and where relations between city residents and local law enforcement are “particularly tense”.
“The prosecutor has given carte blanche to criminals in Marseille,” he said. “The message is that they can behave with impunity. It is extremely worrying.”
FRANCE 24 contacted the Marseille prosecutor but he was unavailable to comment when this article was published.
Marseille has a long history of criminality associated with its status as a port city.
Particularly worrying for law enforcement authorities has been the proliferation of firearms which has given Marseille the dubious distinction of being the Kalashnikov capital of France.
The police have been fighting back, and in the first five months of 2012 seized 261 firearms in the city, compared to a total of 309 for the whole of 2011.
Reverdy said the efforts had reduced the number of armed robberies in the city by 25% - a reduction of around 100 in the first half of 2012.
‘The law of the Republic’
He told FRANCE 24 that he and his fellow officer believed leniency after an alleged attack on policemen risked undermining recent progress.
“It is the law of the Republic [that ID checks are made on people wearing veils] and whether we like it or not we have to be seen to be enforcing it,” he said.
Reverdy’s feelings were backed up by Marseille’s deputy mayor Nora Présozi.
“If we want to avoid an explosive situation the police must be allowed to apply the law,” she told weekly news magazine Le Point. “Every citizen is obliged to submit to identity checks when required, as was the case in this disgraceful incident.”
The 2010 law, which came into effect in April 2011, bans the wearing of any garment that prevents easy identification of an individual by police in a public place.
As well as ski masks and balaclavas, the law also applies to Islamic “niqab” and “burka” veils.
Refusal to remove veils in public or to comply with ID checks is punishable by a 150 euro fine, while people who force others to cover their faces in public face fines of 30,000 euros and a year in prison.

UK: Former BNP Candidate Goes on Terror Rampage after Twice Failing to Pass his HGV Driving Course

From The Telegraph:

Michael Green, 48, told terrified workers he was going to “liquidise some assets” when he stormed into offices of the Advantage HGV training company on Tottenham Court Road, claiming he was laden down with explosives.
The former BNP candidate went on the rampage after twice failing to pass his HGV driving course with the firm.
Tottenham Court Road was closed for hours on April 27
after Michael Green stormed into an office, making threats
When the company refused to refund his £1,000 fee, Green, dressed as a suicide bomber entered the office block and told staff he had nothing to live for.
After ordering staff to throw computers and paperwork out of the windows into the busy streets below, Green told a pregnant hostage that he was keeping her close by for “collateral damage”.
Large parts of central London around Tottenham Court Road had to be sealed off while police marksmen and negotiators attended the scene on April 27.
Three tube stations had to be closed in the chaos and blood supplies to a nearby hospital were also affected.
Thousands of terrified office workers, together with many shoppers and tourists in the area, were evacuated during the stand-off.
At one point, Green told the general manager of the company: “This is a hostage situation I've got enough explosives to blow up the building. I've got nothing left to live for. I want you to get armed police here now.”
Police marksmen, explosive experts and negotiators all attended the scene, while snipers took up position on nearby rooftops.
Appearing at Blackfriars Crown Court on Tuesday, Green pleaded guilty to charges of false imprisonment, communicating false information with intent, and criminal damage.
Jailing him for a total of six years Judge Henry Blacksell QC ordered he serve an extended period of three years on licence after his release for what he described as a “terrifying' incident” that had been prepared in a “quite chilling” way.
He said: 'What you did, and what you set about doing, and what you set about planning was a terrible thing and it demonstrates in my judgment a disturbing aspect of your behaviour.”
The court heard that Green was a former customer of Advantage who bought a training course from the company with a view to obtaining a HGV license in 2011.
He contacted the firm by email and was offered a £1,000 in extra training but later failed the examination a second time.
In January 2012 Green had demanded a refund of his course fee but the firm said it would not give back his cash.
The court heard that Advantage HGV lost £165,000 as a result of the siege while London underground suffered a £53,000 loss.

Insanity: UK Deports Sikh Man to Afghanistan, Where he is Jailed, Abused and Tricked into Converting

After 18 months in an Afghan prison, the British government finally decided to bring him back to the UK. But that's beside the point. Why on earth would a supposedly civilized country send a non-Muslim seeking asylum back to the Islamic hell-hole he just escaped? This case is just one in a wider trend where white countries are more than happy to accept/tolerate illegal and legal Muslim immigrants, only to then send packing law-abiding Sikhs, Christians, homosexuals, etc. back to their death.

From the Guardian:

A Sikh man who was jailed in Kabul for "falsely claiming" to be an Afghan when he was deported from the UK, and says he was bullied and tricked into making a televised conversion to Islam, has been flown back to Birmingham by the British government.
The case of 23 year-old Baljit Singh highlights concerns about the justice system and the status of religious minorities in Afghanistan as the withdrawal of western troops gathers pace.
Singh was deported from the UK nearly two years ago and was spotted by Afghan government officials as soon as he stepped off the chartered aeroplane that carried the failed asylum seekers, marked out by his distinctive Sikh turban.
He was taken aside for questioning and then was put in prison for 18 months during which he never received a charge sheet, let alone a conviction. Prosecutors told him informally that his crime was falsely claiming to be Afghan.
"The only thing in his file was a note saying 'this is the day he was arrested'," said Kimberley Motley, a Kabul-based lawyer who took on his case pro bono and helped secure his release and his return to Britain.
"I wrote to the attorney general's office saying he is being held without charge, which is illegal. You can't just keep him indeterminately locked up for no reason."
But although illegal, his fate was not unusual in Afghanistan, activists say. The country is still struggling to build up its justice system and hundreds of people are jailed without a valid criminal charge.
"There are lots of people in prison in Afghanistan without legal cause, some of whom have completed their prison sentences but not been released, others charged for things that are not a crime under the penal code," said Heather Barr, Afghanistan researcher for Human Rights Watch.
"His case is unusual, but unfortunately the pattern of being put in prison without anyone finding a section of the law that you violated is not that unusual."
As well as the prospect of an indefinite spell in prison, in a country he had left when only five years old and where he no longer had friends or close relatives, Singh said he was being harassed for his religion and pressured to convert.
He was verbally and physically abused in prison. One inmate threw boiling water over him, Singh said, pulling out a picture of his bandaged face shortly after the assault.
He was also ordered to sleep in a corner of an outdoor courtyard, next to the toilet, he said. Men had to step over him on their way to relieve themselves, and as they did so, some kicked the turban that marked him out as a Sikh.
"Basically they were trying to say 'be like us'," he said of the beatings prior to his conversion, which he described as a superficial change he was tricked and harassed into.
"They said 'you should say these words', it was just an accident thing, and they lifted me up and said 'you are a Muslim'."
TV cameras were called in to record the moment and despite promises his face would be obscured, it was broadcast along with his name. "They played it on national television. They were very proud that a Sikh converted."
Singh said the conversion angered the country's already beleaguered Sikh community, which has dwindled from thousands of families to just a few hundred over 30 years of war and persecution.
"It makes me very sad, now we Sikhs only own four houses round here, most people have sold up," said Narander Singh, a fortune teller and herbalist who took his own family to India over a decade ago but could not find work so returned to Kabul to support them from a distance.
Many other men were in a similar situation, he said, with Afghan objections to the Sikh tradition of burning their dead a particular irritant. "Day by day, they are trying to leave," added Singh, who is not related to Baljit.
Baljit, who never lived in Kabul, was part of the wider exodus. He was born in the eastern town of Jalalabad. His father died when he was young and the rest of the family left Afghanistan soon after.
He was separated from his family during a journey through Pakistan, the Middle East and Europe, and ended up in England in 2007.
His first request for asylum was refused, but he remained in the UK pending an appeal, until he was abruptly arrested when he tried to register for marriage in 2010. Shortly afterwards, he was deported following what both he and Motley describe as mistakes by careless lawyers.
"It's extremely difficult to get asylum in the UK, especially if you are not physically in the country," said Motley.
"I think by them taking him back to the UK it is a recognition that there was a legal error that took place and that they are trying to correct."
Barr said the UK government's decision to deport a Sikh to Afghanistan was "shocking" given the country's limited religious freedom.
"Religious minorities are a very small portion of the population in Afghanistan, and are sometimes tolerated and sometimes not tolerated. So for the UK to send him back in the first place without carefully considering the situation of Sikhs in Afghanistan and the treatment that would await him is shocking," she said.
Singh told the Guardian by phone from Birmingham, where he is now seeking asylum, that being there felt "unbelievable". He had asked that his case not be publicised until he was back on British soil, because of worries it could complicate his departure.
"I never thought I would see the UK again … So many people are still stuck in jail [in Afghanistan]. I am so lucky," he added.
The British embassy declined to comment on the details of Singh's case, but suggested that it was convinced he is Afghan, and he was returned to the UK only because that could not be proved.
"Individuals are only returned to a country when there is substantial evidence that it is their country of origin," an embassy spokeswoman said.
"We have agreements in place with certain countries that mean we will re-admit individuals unable to prove their nationality to the satisfaction of the receiving country's authorities."
The Afghan justice ministry said it was not aware of the case, and the attorney general's office did not respond to requests for comment.

Sri Lankan Youth in Saudi Arabia at Risk of Being Beheaded for Praying to Buddha

From The Chakra News:

A Sri Lankan youth employed as a domestic aid has been arrested in Saudi Arabia for praying to a statue of Lord Buddha, which is considered an offence according to Islamic Sharia law. According to the Bodu Bala Sena, the youth bearing passport no. 2353715 identified as Premanath Pereralage Thungasiri has been arrested by Umulmahami Police, which is a grave situation. While the youth is a Buddhist, the charge levelled against him is that he paid obeisance to the Buddha at the house where he was employed.
The Bodu Bala Sena organisation further said those employed in Muslim-majority countries are prevented from practicing their religious faiths, and if found to do so are punished severely. Recently a Sri Lankan woman was arrested for gazing at a child at a shopping complex, where she was accused of witchcraft, on the grounds that she had a black cord around her wrist.
On prior occasions too many Sri Lankan female domestic workers were forced to embrace Islam, and wear the traditional attire, while so far four Sri Lankan youth have been beheaded in that country. (Source: Ceylon Today)
Saudi Arabia is an Islamic theocratic monarchy where the religion of Islam is the official religion. Non-Islamic proselytism and conversions are illegal and conversion by Muslims to another religion (apostasy) carries the death penalty. Under Saudia Arabia Sharia Islamic law, children of Saudi parents are considered Muslim, regardless of the country or the religious tradition in which they may have been raised.

US: Muslim Charged with 9 Counts of Attempted Murder for Trying to Kill Street Preachers

From Answering Muslims:

I heard about this when I was still in Michigan, but I didn't want to post anything until I had some documentation. I waited for the Detroit Free Press and other local media to report the story, but I gave up after more than a week of searching. Fortunately, Gadi Adelman (GA) interviewed Ruben Israel (RI) and posted the disturbing news over at Front Page Magazine.
On Sunday, June 17th, 2012, Ruben Israel's group of street preachers went to the Islamic Center of America (the same mosque I had visited two days earlier). While the group was preaching, a Muslim emerged from the mosque, got into his SUV, and tried to run them over. Mosque security naturally blamed the preachers for provoking him.
Everyone should take note here. Ruben Israel's presence at the Dearborn Arab Festival was national news. The media jumped at the chance to show images of intolerant Christians harassing Muslims (check out Niraj Warikoo's coverage over at the Detroit Free Press). While I have no objections to calling attention to (and criticizing) the actions of Ruben Israel and his associates, we should all be horrified to realize that nine counts of attempted murder by a Muslim targeting Christians isn't even considered newsworthy by local media in Michigan.
Here's an excerpt from Adelman's interview:
GA: Now give me the exclusive; what happened on Sunday?
RI: We were at the Arab fest on Friday. On Sunday we went to the mosque in Dearborn.
GA: Were you on mosque property or out on the side walk?
RI: What mosque doesn’t have a sidewalk, but we stood by the street where the side walk would be. Of course the Dearborn Police showed up instantly. We were able to use our megaphone. We were able to fly our banners and there was no problem. The officers said everything was fine and we’re doing good. There were 2 squad cars and they flanked us just to make sure we were safe. Some of the Muslims came out and were screaming at us and we yelled back and forth and we did not go on their property, and according to police it was fine.
Unfortunately, one of the Muslims got in his SUV, drove up over the hill, accelerated and came right at us where we were standing. This guy came directly at us and we had to jump out of the way and he came screaming by us. Both of the police cars stopped him, pulled him out and cuffed him and he showed no remorse. The police actually have it on video because both police cars had there dash cameras on, so it’s not like it’s my word against his.
Then mosque security came out and said that they knew this guy and that we provoked him and the Dearborn Police officer yelled at the security guard and told him if he didn’t back off he would also be arrested for hindering a police investigation.
GA: Did the guy in the SUV pull over or was he forced to?
RI: They had to block him in. Once he was on the street they were headed his way and he was blocked in. They threw him against the car, cuffed him, frisked him, checked his car and again. It’s not like we can make this up. He is now officially charged with 9 counts of attempted murder.
GA: This never hit the news, not even in Dearborn?
RI: No, of course not, but if I had attempted to run down a Muslim that would be the head news on CNN, CBS, NBC, but when a Muslim wants to take out 9 Christians. We were the visiting team. This guy may walk; he has the potential to walk. At the very best they may take away his library card for a few weeks, but he’s out on bail. He’s out on high-dollar bail and from what I was told by the detective in charge, he does have a high-dollar attorney, so he’s not going to go down easy. He’s going to fight this thing.
Hmmm. It seems police have video footage of the attempted murder of the group. Since the Dearborn Police Department and I aren't on the best of terms, anyone care to put in a FOIA request for the footage and police reports?

‘Summer Brides’: Under-Age Daughters Sold as ‘Sex-Slaves’ in Egypt to Wealthy 'Arab' Tourists

From Al Arabiya:

Wealthy Arab tourists from Gulf countries are paying money to purchase under-age Egyptian girls as “summer-brides”, claims a new report on human trafficking released by the U.S. State Department.
The marriages are not legally binding and end when the men return to their home countries.
According to the report “Trafficking in Persons”, often times these temporary marriages are facilitated by the girls’ parents who profit from the transaction.
According to Britain’s The Daily Mail, the wealthy tourists pay an amount to poor families through intermediaries, ranging from anywhere between $495 and $4,950.The young victims, some under the age of 18, are then forced to serve as sex slaves as well as servants to their “husbands.”
Egypt has laws in place that aim to combat human trafficking which prevent foreigners from marrying an Egyptian woman if there is more than ten years age difference, but marriage brokers have found a way around that by forging birth certificates to make the girls appear older and the men younger.
These contracts also eliminate any potential problems with hotels and land lords who may demand to see proof of marriage before allowing a couple to stay in a room together, since pre-marital sex is prohibited in Islam.
In many cases, the family agrees to marry their daughter without her consent, but often the girls are willing participants as they see it as the only way to help provide for their families.
In some cases the men take the Egyptian girls back to their home country to work as maids for their first wives. But even the girls who stay in Egypt do not fare much better since they often become ostracized by society and find it difficult to re-marry in the traditional way, particularly if the “summer marriage” resulted in a child.
Many of the young women end up in a cycle of temporary marriages with Gulf tourists, and others are targeted by Egyptian men who marry them in order to force them into prostitution.
Many abandon the child out of shame, either to orphanages or leaving them to join the hundreds of thousands of street children that already exist in Egypt.
Dr. Hoda Badran, who chairs the NGO Alliance for Arab Women, explained to the Sunday Independent that poverty is the main factor behind this phenomenon.
“If those families are in such a need to sell their daughters you can imagine how poor they are. Many times, the girl does not know she is marrying the husband just for the short term. She is young, she accepts what her family tells her, she knows the man is going to help them. If the girl is very poor, sometimes it is the only way out to help the family survive,” she told the newspaper.
The report by the State department said Egypt is making significant efforts to eliminate human trafficking, but due to the political unrest in the country over the past year, the government is unable to provide law enforcement and prosecution data on those efforts.
Furthermore, it said Egypt is continuing to develop strategies to implement a comprehensive action plan to address all aspects on trafficking.
In 2009, a court in Egypt’s second largest city Alexandria jailed two registrars for conducting temporary marriages of hundreds of underage girls, however NGOs say that this is only the tip of the iceberg, and that more needs to be done to implement existing laws.

Malaysia: Educational Book has Offensive Caricatures of Africans, refers to Them as “Mr. Charcoal.”

According to the propaganda, Islam "eradicates racism". Apparently not....

From Bikya Masr:

KUALA LUMPUR: Black face is never a good idea. Malaysia’s new comic book aimed at educating the country’s taxi drivers as cultural ambassadors for the country has shown that racism and xenophobia can find a place in the location one least expects it.

For the Malaysian government to employ it and publish Africans in this lens is “disrespectful and racist,” said cultural psychologist Mariam Razq, who told Bikyamasr.com that she was “shocked that in today’s modern multicultural world, this kind of overt racism continues.”

She was referring to a recent “M1-Malaysia” magazine aimed at educating the governments recent addition of taxi drivers to be the frontline for tourist relations in the country.

The booklet reveals the dark side of racism and its undercurrents that can be shown publicly. In the magazine, dark-skinned foreigners are depicted with large mouths, white lipstick and slapstick-type qualities in what experts and organizations haave condemned as “highly crude and discriminatory remarks.”

In a statement the Working Group on National Ratification of International Convention for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination said the booklet is a distorted propaganda publication bearing the 1Malaysia logo and was widely distributed at the 1Malaysia People’s Taxi Program launch on June 25.

“We strongly and collectively condemn the discriminatory cartoon in the comic booklet entitled “M1-Malaysia – Majalah untuk rakyat,” the statement said.

“The irony is this degrading comic book was actually given to the thousands of tax drivers who were being heralded as the “tourism ambassadors” of our country,” the coalition of NGOs said in the statement.

The booklet continued to refer to black foreigners as “Mr. Charcoal.”

Razq said that getting beyond racism can be a difficult process and one that takes time, “but government officials should have known better than to publish something so blatant and which could have horrible affects for black people visiting the country.”

“This negative depiction of any race or nationality based on skin color is a violation of basic human rights. Sadly this embarrassing document obviously contradicts the spirit, sentiment and principles of “1 Malaysia” as espoused by PM Najib’s government.

“Respect, unity and tolerance for all are not values only to be enjoyed by Malaysian Citizens but they are universal principles applicable for all human beings on this earth!

“This “Xenophobic” behavior or the ridiculous and unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners is truly embarrassing for our nation and our multicultural population. It is a total contradiction to the common claim that Malaysians are very sensitive to each other despite racial and religious differences, and we have achieved the delicate balance of “unity in diversity”,” said the statement in demanding the government immediately remove the document from circulation and publish a new magazine that accurately represents dark-skinned visitors to the country.

The statement continued to warn and question what the result would be if children in Malaysia came in contact with the booklet.

The Malaysia Information Ministry said it was looking into the matter and would investigate the groups’ argument and claims.

For now, the booklet remains in public view, and for the first line of “ambassadors” and taxi drivers who will meet and greet visitors to the country, there are worries that it could have dramatic consequences.

Razq said that more efforts are needed to “educate Malaysians on differences between people, but in a manageable way that does not divide and show people that it is all right to promote racist behavior.”

MEMRI Video and Transcript: Sunni Fatwa Allows Sodomy for Jihad Purposes

I'm not against 'sodomy' between two consenting adults, but this may be taking it a little far....

From MEMRI:

Following are excerpts from an address by London-based Shiite cleric Abdallah Al-Khilaf, which aired on Fadak TV and was posted on Youtube, on June 16, 2012.
Abdallah Al-Khilaf: First, we'd like to show you a fatwa, which appeared on the Lions of Sunna Internet forum. One Wahhabi wrote: "Dear Sheik, may Allah grant you martyrdom and black-eyed virgins in Paradise, I wanted to commit a martyrdom operation. I turned to Sheik Abu Dimaa Al-Qassab, who told me that they had invented a new and unprecedented form of martyrdom operations – explosive capsules are inserted into your anus.
"In order to train for this method of Jihad, you must consent to being sodomized for a period of time, so that your anus becomes wider, making room for the explosives.
"My question is whether I am permitted to allow one of the mujahideen access to my anus, if my intentions are honorable, and the purpose is to train for Jihad by widening my anus."
The sheik praised Allah and said: "In principle, sodomy is forbidden. However, Jihad is more important. It is the pinnacle of Islam. If sodomy is the only way to reach this pinnacle of Islam, then there is no harm in it.
"The rule is that necessity makes the forbidden permissible. Something that is required in order to perform a duty becomes a duty in and of itself. No duty takes precedence over Jihad.
"Therefore, you must be sodomized... After you have been sodomized, you must ask Allah for forgiveness.
"Know, my son, that Allah resurrects the mujahideen on Judgment Day on the basis of their intentions. Allah willing, your intention is to support Islam. May Allah include you among those who heed His call."
This is the fatwa that led a man a while ago to carry out a bombing attack against then Interior Minister Naif bin Abd Al-Aziz [sic].

UAE: Police Insisted he "Remove his Niqab... Greeted with a Long Beard," Another 'Burka Bandit' Nabbed

Similar incidents have happened all over the world. For example; in Australia, France, the United Kingdom and the United States. Terrorist also use this as a way to elude the authorities (e.g. here). This time it's the United Arab Emirates.

From Gulf News:

Dubai A man has been accused of cross-dressing after police said they found him walking like a man while wearing an abaya and a niqab in a street.
Police said the 35-year-old Frenchman said he dressed in the abaya to steal jewellery and sell it to repay a €1 million (Dh4.6 million) debt he had accumulated in Paris.
Police suspected 35-year-old K.K., when they saw him walking in the street, and they arrested him when they realised he maybe a man despite being covered from top to bottom.
Prosecutors charged K.K. with cross-dressing by wearing women’s clothing, covering his hands with black gloves and carrying a female purse.
He was also accused of using a different name during a police investigation, by claiming he was an Algerian named A.J.
When the suspect appeared at Dubai Misdemeanour Court, he could not admit or deny the accusations as there was no French language translator.
“I don’t understand English, I only speak French,” K.K. told Presiding Judge Ali Saad.
The policemen who found the man said nothing was revealed from his body except his eyes.
Walk like a man
One of the arresting police officers called K.K. and asked him to stop when he noticed that he walked like a man. The suspect did not reply and continued walking into a shop. The policemen followed him inside. When one of them tried to speak to him, K.K. tried to soften his voice and spoke like a woman.
The two policemen insisted he was a man and asked him to remove his niqab. They were greeted with a long beard.
Police searched his purse and confiscated a toy gun, knife and plastic tape in his possession.
During prosecution questioning, K.K. claimed he was a merchant but had suffered major financial loss and accumulated €1 million in debt in Paris.
“I could not repay my debts. I decided to visit Dubai and steal diamonds then sell it to be able to cover my debts. I took my wife’s abaya and niqab then came here. I came here on May 30 and I got arrested on June 1. I purchased the confiscated items from Mall of the Emirates. I stood in front of the shop that I was planning to rob before the policemen suspected me. My debt is what urged me to do this… I dressed up like a woman to steal,” claimed K.K.
The court reconvenes on July 2.

Maldives: A Real Moderate Muslim Blogger has Throat Slit for Advocating Free Speech and Tolerance

Unfortunately, real moderate and courageous Muslims like Ismail ‘Hilath’ Rasheed are few and far between . Most so-called "moderates" are only interested in deflecting criticism away from Islamists, leading them to spend  all of their time trying to "refute" critics rather than actually attempting reform by discussing problems within Islam with fellow Muslims.

From Minivan News:

Prominent Maldivian blogger and journalist Ismail ‘Hilath’ Rasheed is in a critical condition after he was stabbed in the neck near his house in Male’ on Monday evening.
Police Sub-Inspector Hassan Haneef confirmed that Rasheed was stabbed around 8:15pm and was undergoing emergency treatment in ADK hospital.
No arrests have been made, “however there is CCTV in the area and we are trying to get something on it,” Haneef stated.
Police had cordoned off the area around the blood-stained pavement at time of press. There was on Monday evening no indication as to the motivation of the attack.
An informed source at ADK hospital said Rasheed was bleeding but conscious when he was brought to the hospital, and that he was expected to remain in surgery until 2:30am.
“They slit his throat clean through the trachea, and missed a vital artery by millimetres,” the source said, around 11:30pm, giving Rasheed a “five percent chance … It doesn’t look good.”
Early on Tuesday morning the source reported that Rasheed’s condition had stabilised: “He’ll be in intensive care for a couple of days. He’s breathing through a tube now.”
Sub-Inspector Haneef said a second individual was stabbed in the back at 11:00pm near Male’s garbage dump and had been taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in a critical condition. Local media reported that the victim was believed to be a Bangladeshi national.
Second attack
Rasheed, a once outspoken blogger against extremism and former editor of newspaper Haveeru, was previously attacked by a group of men on December 10, 2011 – Human Rights Day – while attending a protest calling for religious tolerance.
A group of men attacked the protesters with stones, and Rasheed was taken to IGMH with a fractured skull.
He was subsequently arrested by police for questioning over his involvement in the protest gathering, and jailed for over three weeks.
Amnesty International declared him a ‘prisoner of conscience’, and said it was “dismayed that instead of defending Ismail ‘Khilath’ Rasheed, who has peacefully exercised his right to freedom of the expression, the government of Maldives has detained him. Moreover, the government has taken no action to bring to justice those who attacked the ‘silent’ demonstrators, even though there is credible photographic evidence of the attack.”
The Foreign Ministry subsequently called for an investigation “by relevant authorities” into the attack on the protest.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) also condemned both the December 10 attack on Rasheed and his arrest, noting that he was not only one of the country’s leading free speech advocates, but one of the few Maldivians bloggers to write under his own name.
“The Maldivian constitution bans the promotion of any religion other than Islam but guarantees freedom of assembly and expression as long as it does not contravene Islam. Rasheed professes to be an adherent of Sufism, which emphasises the inner, spiritual dimension of Islam,” RSF stated at the time.
Censored blogger
Rasheed’s popular and controversial blog, www.hilath.com, was blocked in November 2011 by the Communications Authority of the Maldives (CAM) on the order of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The Ministry made the request on the grounds that the site contained anti-Islamic material, CAM confirmed at the time.
Hilath claimed he was being censored for expressing his version of Islam, and called for more freedom of interpretation within the faith.
“I call upon all concerned to amend the clause in the constitution which requires all Maldivians to be Sunni Muslims only,” his statement read. “‘Unto you your religion and unto me my religion,’ and ‘There is no compulsion in religion’,” he said, quoting Qur’an 109:6 and 2:256.
Hilath claimed at the time that the blocking of his website had a political edge: “If Sunni Muslims are the conservatives, then the Sufi Muslims are the liberals,” he told Minivan News. “I think this is a conservative attack on the site. They think if you’re not a Sunni, you’re an unbeliever.”
Following the blocking of his blog and his attack in December, Rasheed became less outspoken on the subject of religion and withdrew from the public spotlight.
On May 12 he tweeted his intention to stop blogging altogether, and stated that he had “repented and am now a Muslim. But a very tolerant one at that.”

Turkey: Activists Mark Mass Starvation of 80,000 Stray Dogs

I know the label "genocide" (defined as the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group) technically does not apply to animals. But, as a vegan I see this as nothing less than that.

Prophet Muhammad (and Mahmud II who tried to do the same thing in the late 19th century), would surely be displeased that people think there's anything wrong with starving these poor animals to death.

From Today's Zaman:

A group of animal activists on Sunday gathered at a ferry terminal and took a boat to Sivriada, an island off İstanbul in the Marmara Sea, where 80,000 stray dogs were left to starve to death by the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) 102 years ago in arguably what was one of the most-organized and large-scale animal-cruelty cases in world history.
Authorities, who wanted to modernize the city and give it a more Western appearance, collected stray dogs, a staple of İstanbul, and sent them to die on Sivriada in 1910. Many travelers have written extensively about İstanbul's stray animals and the compassion with which they are cared for by the city's residents in their memoirs.
The activists, members of the newly founded Animal Party, also put up a stone monument which reads “In memory of the tens of thousands of dogs that were left to die on this island in 1910.” The participants laid flowers in front of the monument.
Some of the dogs died of hunger, while others were killed fighting each other in a starving stupor. Still others perished under the burning sun on the island, where there is not so much as a single tree, or drowned in the sea trying to drink its briny waters.
Mahmut II had tried to do the same thing in the late 19th century, but had to bring the dogs back in face of opposition from İstanbul residents. The authorities this time did not listen to any complaints. Foreigners who were in the city on the day write that uprisings nearly started in the city to keep the dogs, but the authorities were deaf to the opposition.
The pained cries of the dogs could be heard from the city at night, historical records recount.
Neslihan Demir, a spokesperson for the Animal Party, said: “We are here 102 years later to make people remember, and to feel our shame. We are hearing those voices, and we are here to set our human pride aside and apologize to all dogs for the 1910 dog massacre.” She noted that the same mentality was still at work in İstanbul, with some municipalities still abandoning hundreds of stray dogs in forests and other far-off places, where they will not be able to find food.
She said the Animal Party wants the constitution to include an article about the protection of Turkey's stray dogs.

Turkey Expands Relations With the Taliban, 100 Terrorists Studying at Turkish Universities

From Ahlul Bayt News Agency:

Afghan sources in Turkey say about one hundred members of the Taliban terrorist group are studying at Turkish universities.
With privileges provided by the Turkish government, members of the Afghan terrorist group are studying, mainly in the western city of Izmir, the sources said on Saturday.
Pointing to the expansion of relations between the Taliban and the Turkish government, the Afghan sources added that a group of terrorists who have recently been released from the Pul-e-Charkhi prison east of Kabul have been sent to Turkey for training.
They have been sighted in public wearing their unique outfits and sporting their distinctive look, witnesses said.

Islamophobia in US? Muslim Threatens Christians, "F**K Freedom of Speech... Shari'ah is Coming, Baby!"

I thought it was only deluded and "Islamophobic" right-wingers who believed Shari'ah law was coming to America, and that it was only them who believed "peace-loving moderate Muslims" in the US couldn't give a damn about freedom of speech. Apparently not....

From Answering Muslims:

Politicians, the media, and Muslim organizations assure us that Muslims have no desire to establish Sharia in America. For whatever reason, some Muslims didn't get the memo.

"Moderate Indonesia": Atheist Jailed for 2 ½ Years for Writing ‘God Doesn’t Exist’ on his Facebook Page

From Mail Online:

An Indonesian man was jailed for 30 months after writing "God doesn't exist" on his Facebook page.
Alexander Aan, 30, was imprisoned on Thursday for sharing explicit material about the Prophet Mohammed online.
He started an atheist group on Facebook on which he shared comic strips of the prophet having sex with his servant, a court in western Sumatra heard today.

Alexander Aan, 30, waits in the jail holding area during his verdict
at the Muaro Sijunjung district court in West Sumatra today
He was found guilty of 'deliberately spreading information inciting religious hatred and animosity', presiding judge Eka Prasetya Budi Dharma told the Muaro Sijunjung district court in western Sumatra.
Aan also uploaded three articles on his Facebook account, including one describing the prophet being attracted to his daughter-in-law.
'Under the Electronic Information and Transactions law, we sentence him to prison for a length of two years and six months,' Dharma said.
'What he did has caused anxiety to the community and tarnished Islam.'

Aan listens to the judges before being jailed for 30 months for setting
up an atheist Facebook group, writing "God doesn't exist" on his Facebook
page, and for sharing explicit material about the Prophet Mohammed online
Aan was beaten by an angry mob and arrested by police in his hometown of Pulau Punjung in western Sumatra in January after posting the material online and declaring himself an atheist.
The court had earlier indicted Aan with two other charges - persuading others to embrace atheism and blasphemy.
Prosecutors had sought a three-and-a-half-year jail term for him.
But the court convicted him of the most serious charge and dropped the other two.

Alexander Aan has been jailed for setting up an
atheist Facebook group
Aan's arrest sparked outrage among Indonesians and international activists, who showed their support on his Facebook group and circulated petitions to have his charges dropped.
Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority nation, guarantees freedom of religion in its constitution and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, but only recognises six faiths: Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Confucianism
Its courts have in recent years given light sentences to perpetrators of violent attacks on Christians and Islamic minority Ahmadis, some of which have been fatal.

Indonesia: Aceh Muslims Forbidden from Approving Construction of Non-Muslim Worship-places

From AKI/Jakarta Post:

Jakarta, 12 June (AKI/Jakarta Post) - Twenty churches in Indonesia's Aceh province have been closed down and are likely to be demolished by the local administration.
A lower house lawmaker Eva K. Sundari said her human rights commission received complaints about the forced closure of 20 churches from the United North Sumatra Alliance on Monday.
The core of the problem is the contradictory regulations between the 2007 gubernatorial decree on the guidance of the construction of houses of worship and the 2006 joint ministerial decree governing the construction of houses of worship.
“Under the ministerial decree, a house of worship can only be built if it has secured the approval of 90 worshipers while the gubernatorial decree requires the approval of 150 worshippers,” Eva said Tuesday.
The ministerial decree also requires the approval of 60 local residents of different faiths.
Worse still, Eva said, was a local edict that forbade Muslims from approving the construction of houses of worship other than mosques, which made it impossible for the churches to fulfill the requirements.
Not only have new churches been forced to close but also the Pakpak Dairi Protestant Church, which was established in 1932, is likely to be demolished, she said.
“Guidance from the home minister is needed so that the local consultative forum and the police can be fair and neutral for all citizens and not bow down to intolerant groups,” she said.

Palestinian Principal Punished after He & Students Participate in "Scandalous" Dance with Israelis

Maybe it's due to my disinterest in politics, but I guess I would be called a "fence-sitter" because I do not support Israel, nor do I support Palestine. Instead I support peace and people. And there has certainly been many peaceful people on both sides who have been hurt by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This story is both heart-warming and breaking. Heart-warming because it proves, unlike what some Islam-critics would have you believe, there are some genuinely peace-loving Palestinians out there. Heart-breaking because of the reaction from the Palestinian Ministry of Education who fear people will see that.... not all Palestinians and Israelis hate each other!

From Gulf News:

Ramallah: Mohammad Abu Samra, the youngest known school principal in the history of Palestinian Territories, paid a huge price for dancing and allowing his pupils to dance with Israelis on the Jafa beach.
Palestinian students with Israelis who joined them on the dance floor on the beach.
The 33-year-old Mohammad Abu Samra, principal of Al Salam Secondary School in the city of Qalqiliya, north of West Bank, was transferred after he organised a picnic for 45 pupils of grade 11 and 12 to the Jafa beach in Israel. The pupils are up in arms against the Ministry of Education’s decision to transfer the principal to a school more than 30km away from his home.
Mohammad Abu Samra
The students went on a strike and organised several processions within the premises of the Ministry of Education, demanding Abu Samra be reinstated. He said each student who went on the picnic had to provide a parental approval saying that they knew that their sons were heading to the beach that would have women visitors. “It is illogical and unfair for me to be punished,” he said.
Photos taken on the beach show some of the pupils with women in bikinis, which are considered a disgrace by the pupils’ families.
According to Abu Samra, the ministry, had sent a memo, encouraging schools to organise picnics to the 1948 areas. The Israeli authorities also granted the students and their supervisors visit permits, which usually expire at 7 pm.
Speaking to Gulf News, Abu Samra said the pupils were 17-20 years and it was difficult to control them on the beach. “It is true that in keeping with the regulations of the Ministry of Education the pupils were not allowed to swim, but how could I have controlled them once they were there?” he said.
Abu Samra said at sunset, as the Israeli permits were about to expire, he instructed his pupils to get ready to go back home. However, at the same time, a group of Israeli men and women preparing a dance floor with a DJ.
“On our way to the bus, my pupils were attracted to the music and I could not say no to them,” he said. “My pupils started dancing and I also joined them at the beginning to let them have fun,” he said, stressing that their dance had attracted some Israeli men and women to the beach.
“Those Israelis and a child joined us on the dance floor and I could not object or ask them to leave,” he said, adding that the dance lasted 10 to 20 minutes. “It was purely unintentional and that has affected my future,” he said.
“Volunteers shot a video and took a couple of still photos and forwarded them to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, with a complaint that the incident would imply that there was normalisation of ties with Israel and it exposed the young generation of Palestinians to Israel’s illicit code of conduct,” he said.
“I was thereafter given two choices: either be downgraded to the position of a teacher with a final warning or voluntarily seek transfer to a far-away school,” he said.
A pupil said the school supports the principal and that they will fight until Abu Samra returns to the institution. “Our principal did not commit any mistake. It was the Israelis who loved the way we danced and they came forward and shared the dance floor with us,” the pupil said.
A senior official from the Ministry of Education told Gulf News that Abu Samra should not have allowed his pupils to dance in the first place. The fact that some Israeli women shared the dance floor with the pupils further complicated the issue.
The official stressed that Abu Samra had committed several administrative mistakes during the outing. Although the picnic was licensed by the ministry, mixing with Israelis on the beach should not have been allowed, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
“This issue has serious social and political ramifications and trips such as this should be planned and executed in a more conservative way,” the official added.

"Moderate Indonesia": Aceh to Ban Sales of Tight Clothing

As the article notes, under Aceh’s Islamic law, the sale of alcohol is already banned across the province and gamblers are punished by caning. There is also talk of bringing back stoning. No doubt, these stonings to death will be moderate stonings using moderate stones and carried out by peace-loving moderate Muslims (note: 42%  [tiny minority?] of "moderate" Indonesian Muslims are in favor of stoning adulterers to death).

From The Jakarta Globe:

Shariah police officer lectures women who were reprimanded for wearing
tight jeans, during a Shariah law raid in Banda Aceh on Thursday.
Shops in Indonesia’s Aceh province, where Islamic law is in force, will soon be banned from selling tight-fitting clothes, an official said on Thursday.
The announcement was made after religious police in the provincial capital, Banda Aceh, stopped and reprimanded more than 50 women and three men for violating the Islamic dress code, including wearing tight clothing and shorts.
Samsuddin, the head of enforcement at the agency overseeing compliance with Islamic law in Aceh, said his office would issue a circular banning shops from selling body-hugging fashion items.
“We will soon send letters to shop owners,” Samsuddin said. “The newly elected governor very much supports the enforcement of Islamic law.” Zaini Abdullah is due to be sworn in as Aceh’s new governor on June 26 after winning an election in April.
Shariah police in Aceh regularly carry out patrols to enforce the rule of Islamic modesty and a ban on unseemly contact between unmarried couples.
Officers recorded the personal details of those behaving in an unseemly manner, lectured them, and told them they could be detained or lashed if they were caught again.
Samsuddin said his officers had netted 300 women who violated the Islamic dress code in the past two months.
Munway, one of the three men stopped for wearing shorts in Thursday’s operation, pleaded for leniency.
“I’m a construction worker and I’m laying bricks,” he told a woman officer who asked him to show his identity card. “I’m outside because I’m going to buy some paint.” Munawar said he agreed with Islamic law but men should not be arrested for wearing shorts.
Under Aceh’s Islamic law, the sale of alcohol is banned across the province and gamblers are punished by caning.
The law was imposed in 2001 as part of special autonomy granted by the central government to pacify a clamor for independence in the province on the northern tip of Sumatra.
The separatist conflict killed an estimated 15,000 people, mostly civilians, before it ended with the signing of a peace pact between the government and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) in 2005.

"Moderate Indonesia": City to Force All Muslim Women to Observe Hijab

These so-called "moderate" Islamic countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Turkey have already started "turning back the clock" by legalizing pedophilic Muslim marriages and other such Islamic quirks. Give it a few more years and these nations will most likely be indistinguishable from Saudi Arabia.

From Straits Times:

The Tasikmalaya City Council will soon pass a regulation that will require all Muslim women, including visitors to the West Java city, to wear headscarves.
The regulation, which is currently being drafted by the local administration, will enact the Bylaw on Community Values Based on Muslim Teachings that was passed in 2009.
Tasikmalaya city secretary Tio Indra Setiadi said on Monday that preparations for the regulation would be finished soon.
'Hopefully, preparations for the enactment of the new bylaw will be completed this month,' Mr Tio said.
