France: Muslim Mob Rule, Police Attacked Doing Burka Check, Attackers Released Without Charge

From Islam versus Europe:

There have been a few attacks on police in France and Belgium while they were conducting burka checks. But this is the first time the state has taken the side of the attackers. With a 40% Muslim demographic in Marseilles and 93% of Muslims voting Socialist, the police can expect a lot more betrayal from Socialist politicians, including the new Hollande government.
In the restive port city of Marseille, police fear that the release of four people arrested for allegedly attacking officers during an ID check on a woman wearing an Islamic veil will undermine their fight against violent crime in the city.
By FRANCE 24 (text)
Marseille police say three of its officers were injured in the early hours of July 25 when a mob of some 50 people tried to prevent them from checking the identity of a woman who was wearing a full Islamic veil.
Under a controversial law passed in 2010, wearing a full veil or covering one’s face in a public place is illegal in France and offenders must submit to ID checks.
According to the police, the woman was stopped just after midnight near a city mosque and refused to cooperate with the officers.
A man accompanying her as well as a large group of bystanders came to her aid and three officers were “lightly injured” in a scuffle.
After police reinforcements arrived, four people, including the 18-year-old woman named only as “Louise-Marie”, were arrested for allegedly assaulting the officers – but were promptly released with a warning on the orders of the city prosecutor.
According to an AFP source, the decision was “a gesture of appeasement during the holy [Islamic] month of Ramadan.”
‘Astonished’
“What kind of message does this send out?” asked David-Olivier Reverdy, head of the Alliance police union. “We are absolutely astonished.”
He told FRANCE 24 the prosecutor’s decision would have “heavy consequences” in a city where “gun crime and ultra-violence is common” and where relations between city residents and local law enforcement are “particularly tense”.
“The prosecutor has given carte blanche to criminals in Marseille,” he said. “The message is that they can behave with impunity. It is extremely worrying.”
FRANCE 24 contacted the Marseille prosecutor but he was unavailable to comment when this article was published.
Marseille has a long history of criminality associated with its status as a port city.
Particularly worrying for law enforcement authorities has been the proliferation of firearms which has given Marseille the dubious distinction of being the Kalashnikov capital of France.
The police have been fighting back, and in the first five months of 2012 seized 261 firearms in the city, compared to a total of 309 for the whole of 2011.
Reverdy said the efforts had reduced the number of armed robberies in the city by 25% - a reduction of around 100 in the first half of 2012.
‘The law of the Republic’
He told FRANCE 24 that he and his fellow officer believed leniency after an alleged attack on policemen risked undermining recent progress.
“It is the law of the Republic [that ID checks are made on people wearing veils] and whether we like it or not we have to be seen to be enforcing it,” he said.
Reverdy’s feelings were backed up by Marseille’s deputy mayor Nora Présozi.
“If we want to avoid an explosive situation the police must be allowed to apply the law,” she told weekly news magazine Le Point. “Every citizen is obliged to submit to identity checks when required, as was the case in this disgraceful incident.”
The 2010 law, which came into effect in April 2011, bans the wearing of any garment that prevents easy identification of an individual by police in a public place.
As well as ski masks and balaclavas, the law also applies to Islamic “niqab” and “burka” veils.
Refusal to remove veils in public or to comply with ID checks is punishable by a 150 euro fine, while people who force others to cover their faces in public face fines of 30,000 euros and a year in prison.

UAE: Police Insisted he "Remove his Niqab... Greeted with a Long Beard," Another 'Burka Bandit' Nabbed

Similar incidents have happened all over the world. For example; in Australia, France, the United Kingdom and the United States. Terrorist also use this as a way to elude the authorities (e.g. here). This time it's the United Arab Emirates.

From Gulf News:

Dubai A man has been accused of cross-dressing after police said they found him walking like a man while wearing an abaya and a niqab in a street.
Police said the 35-year-old Frenchman said he dressed in the abaya to steal jewellery and sell it to repay a €1 million (Dh4.6 million) debt he had accumulated in Paris.
Police suspected 35-year-old K.K., when they saw him walking in the street, and they arrested him when they realised he maybe a man despite being covered from top to bottom.
Prosecutors charged K.K. with cross-dressing by wearing women’s clothing, covering his hands with black gloves and carrying a female purse.
He was also accused of using a different name during a police investigation, by claiming he was an Algerian named A.J.
When the suspect appeared at Dubai Misdemeanour Court, he could not admit or deny the accusations as there was no French language translator.
“I don’t understand English, I only speak French,” K.K. told Presiding Judge Ali Saad.
The policemen who found the man said nothing was revealed from his body except his eyes.
Walk like a man
One of the arresting police officers called K.K. and asked him to stop when he noticed that he walked like a man. The suspect did not reply and continued walking into a shop. The policemen followed him inside. When one of them tried to speak to him, K.K. tried to soften his voice and spoke like a woman.
The two policemen insisted he was a man and asked him to remove his niqab. They were greeted with a long beard.
Police searched his purse and confiscated a toy gun, knife and plastic tape in his possession.
During prosecution questioning, K.K. claimed he was a merchant but had suffered major financial loss and accumulated €1 million in debt in Paris.
“I could not repay my debts. I decided to visit Dubai and steal diamonds then sell it to be able to cover my debts. I took my wife’s abaya and niqab then came here. I came here on May 30 and I got arrested on June 1. I purchased the confiscated items from Mall of the Emirates. I stood in front of the shop that I was planning to rob before the policemen suspected me. My debt is what urged me to do this… I dressed up like a woman to steal,” claimed K.K.
The court reconvenes on July 2.

Now it's five Muslim on Muslim attacks in nine days

This is an update to the earlier post: First Belgium, then France, and now Australia: Third act of Muslim on Muslim terror in just over a week

Well, I expected this, but preferred not to jump to any conclusions until the facts were in. The recent killings in France were not committed by a Neo-Nazi, but a Muslim terrorist. Considering the similarities between Nazism and Islam, you can be forgiven for thinking it was an adherent of the former who was behind the atrocities.

That takes the number of Muslim on Muslim attacks in secular and liberal "Western" nations to 5 in only 9 days, from the 11th to the 19th of March.

Hitler admired Islam [Hitler: Inside the Third Reich: Memoirs, pg. 115], and actual Muslim Nazis are a little-known historical fact. The Handzar Muslim Division was an SS branch of soldiers who were Bosnian Muslims, and who were responsible for many war crimes, especially against Serbs.

After WWII many Nazis fled the West to safer and more welcoming pastures in the Muslim world. Some even converted to Islam. Even today, many Neo-Nazis embrace Islam and retain their affections for Nazism and, naturally, their hatred of Jews.

From the BBC:

11 March: Off-duty sergeant shot dead in Toulouse while waiting for a man about a motorbike sale
15 March: Two paratroopers shot dead and a third injured while waiting at a cash machine in Montauban
19 March: Three children and a teacher shot dead, and a youth injured, at a Toulouse Jewish school
From Forbes:

The Washington Post and France24 have reported that French police have raided a Toulouse home to arrest the suspect in the shooting deaths of three children and an adult at a Jewish school in Toulouse, France. The suspect, an Algerian-born French citizen, reportedly told the police that he committed the killings “to avenge Palestinian children” – ironic at a moment when Palestinians have been shooting rockets into Israel.
According to the Washington Post report,
"Gueant described the suspect as a French citizen, 24, who has spent time with Islamic groups in Afghanistan and Pakistan. News reports said he was of Algerian origin and had invoked the al-Qaeda terrorism network in his contacts with police in shouted conversations through the locked door of an apartment."
The rise of Islamic extremism has been a concern in Europe for some years, but so far, France has been spared the horrors of Islamic terrorism. Now it joins Holland, Spain, and England in confronting the dangers posed by radical Islam as it spreads through our communities in the West.
UPDATE
France24 reports that the suspect targeted French Muslim members of the military in his first shootings as “Arab soldiers are prized targets for groups like Al-Qaeda, which regards Muslims who fight for Western armies as traitors.” Having filmed the attacks as he committed them, the suspect has told French officials that he plans to place the films online. With the Internet now the most powerful recruiting tool of Al Qaeda and other jihadist groups, such films have become standard in the efforts to spread their influence and teachings, and are frequently watched by radicalizing Muslim youth in Europe and elsewhere in the West.

First Belgium, then France, and now Australia: Third act of Muslim on Muslim terror in just over a week

An update to this post is available here: Now it's five Muslim on Muslim attacks in nine days

If we include Islamic and Muslim majority nations, Muslim on Muslim terror attacks and violence happen on an almost daily basis. But the last 8 days are notable for acts of violence perpetrated by Muslims against fellow Muslims, because this trend seems to have begun spreading into secular and liberal "Western" nations.

On March 12, 2012, sectarian violence hit Belgium when a Shi'ite imam died in a mosque arson attack by a Sunni Muslim. He entered the mosque in Anderlecht, a suburb of Brussels, setting it alight and shouting Sunni slogans on his way out — cries related to the conflict in Syria.

On March 16, 2012, a bat-wielding Muslim worshiper entered a mosque in northern France and repeatedly beat two elderly men with it, killing one and badly injuring the other.

And now it has been reported that the Alevi Community Council of Australia centre in North Coburg, Melbourne, has been Petrol-bombed and notes were pinned to the fence threatening Alevis unless they "testified" that Allah was the only god to be worshipped. Alevi is a branch of the Sufi order of Shi'ite Islam.

This is not to say that Western Muslim on Muslim violence and terrorism has never happened before. It most certainly has, or has been attempted. For example:

On August 14, 2011, in broad daylight and heavy traffic, a pro-Israel Muslim poet was viciously attacked on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Muslims used a knife to carve a Star of David on his back while laughing and reciting his pro-Jewish poem.

On January 2011, in what would have also been another notable incident, what was first believed to be an attempted anti-Muslim terrorist attack against a Shi'ite Dearborn mosque, turned out to be motivated by inter-Islamic sectarian differences. Roger Stockham, the so-called "Christian terrorist", turned out to be a convert to Sunni Islam. Stockham is now facing a charge of possessing explosives with unlawful intent.

And, of course, we have Muslim Honor violence that is fast becoming a norm among non-Muslim nations that have a Muslim minority.

From the Sydney Morning Herald:

A petrol-bomb attack on a community centre has prompted fears among Melbourne’s Alevi population they could be targeted with more violence on religious grounds.
Glass bottles containing petrol and set alight were thrown at the front and rear doors of the Alevi Community Council of Australia centre in North Coburg overnight.
No one was inside the centre at the time of the incident, but a centre spokeswoman said the building’s rear door was badly burnt.
Surmeli Aydogan, the council’s community liaison officer, said the centre’s users were also concerned to find notes pinned to the fence threatening Alevis on religious grounds unless they "testified" that Allah was the only god to be worshipped.
Ms Aydogan said the centre had previously received threatening phone calls, but had dismissed them as pranks. However, she said the attack with petrol bombs had left the council's members shaken.
Alevi is a branch of the Sufi order of Shia Islam.
"We're worried this might happen again, and what if this happens when people are here? That's our main concern," she said.
"We're concerned about that as well because we have a youth group here, we have young children here, we have elderly groups. There are people at the centre every single day. It’s a cultural centre, so we do cultural things like reading poetry and dance and so forth."
Ms Aydogan said the attack had stirred painful memories for some of the city’s Alevi population, many of whom moved to Australia after years of oppression in Turkey.
"We’re an oppressed group and we’ve been denied our rights in Turkey, but we live in Australia," she said.
"We’re Australian Alevis now and this sort of thing happening here brings back memories, particularly for our elderly, of what they went through."
Fawkner police confirmed detectives were investigating the incident.
