Muslim Insanity: Woman Arrested... After Trying to File Complaint Against Husband for Beating Her

This reminds me of a previous incident in Dubai, where a teenaged Moroccan rape victim who called police for help was arrested and charged with being a prostitute.

Why would Kuwaiti police be interested in a man who is only following what the Qur'an tells him? Maybe he feared "disloyalty and ill-conduct" [Qur'an 4:34] and had to take this "necessary" action?

An Egyptian woman who went to file a complaint against her husband, ended up behind bars, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The woman went to a police station to complain about her husband who was maltreating her and beating her for no reason. When the investigating officer asked the woman for the marriage contract she said she does not have one.

She added she got married to the man through ‘urfi’ (Urfi is a kind of Muslim marriage similar to the nikah ceremony but without an official contract. Couples repeat the words, ‘We got married’ and pledge commitment before God. Usually a paper, stating that the two are married, is written and two witnesses sign it) which is considered ‘illegal’ in Kuwait.

It is said most Muslim countries do not recognize urfi marriages and no partner can get a ‘legal’ divorce.

Kuwait MPs okay Death Penalty for Cursing Allah, Muhammad or his Wives

Oh, wait. The news article says God not Allah. Was that a typo by me? No, it was not. I can assure you, if you went to Kuwait and started cursing the Christian Trinity or the Hindu Brahman, you'd be in no danger of being put to death. The Muslim world continues its descent deeper and deeper into fundamentalism whilst the dhimmis watch in silence.

Kuwait's parliament on Thursday provisionally passed amendments to the Gulf state's penal code stipulating the death penalty for those who curse God, Islam's Prophet Mohammed or his wives.

Forty-six MPs, including cabinet ministers, voted for the key amendments that will come into effect only after another round of voting and government approval. The second and final vote will take place in two weeks.

Four Shiite MPs voted against the law, a pro-Shiite Sunni lawmaker abstained, while two MPs refused to vote.

Shiite MPs have demanded that the new amendments also enforce the death penalty for anyone who curses their sect's 12 revered Imams, but the Sunni- dominated parliament rejected their requests.

The move to stiffen penalties for religious crimes came after authorities last month arrested a Shiite tweeter for allegedly cursing the Prophet Mohammed, his wife and some companions.

The suspect, Hamad al-Naqi, is being detained pending further interrogation and trial.

Sectarian tensions have flared in Kuwait between the Sunni majority and Shiites, who form about a third of the native population of 1.17 million, reflecting rising regional tensions between the two Islamic sects.
